New Jersey Savings Bank is 17th FDIC-Insured Institution Failure of 2012

The failure of a bank in New Jersey has raised the total number of closures of financial institutions insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to 17 in 2012.  Below is information on the closed bank, with links to the FDIC website for more information:

Fort Lee Federal Savings Bank, FSB, Fort Lee, New Jersey, was closed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

First Michigan Bank Failure is 16th FDIC-Insured Institution Closure in 2012

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has reported that a bank in Michigan has become the 16th financial institution insured by the Deposit Insurance Fund to fail in 2012.  Information about the bank failure, the first this year in Michigan, follows, with links to the FDIC website for more information.

Fidelity Bank, Dearborn, MI, was closed by the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation.

Georgia and Illinois Banks Become FDIC-Insured Institution Failures 14 and 15 for 2012

Covenant Bank & Trust, Rock Spring, GA, was closed by the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance.

Premier Bank, Wilmette, Illinois, was closed today by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation—Division of Banking.

Illinois Bank Becomes 13th FDIC-Insured Institution to Fail in 2012
