Ireland May Extend Bank Liabilities Guarantee

The Irish government’s guarantee of bank liabilities, which kept the financial system from collapsing in September 2008, is poised to end at the end of the year. The government has indicated that it will try to extend the guarantee, as it discusses the future of Anglo Irish Bank, which, along with Allied Irish Banks, is in favor of the move, according to a Reuters report.
